The year was 2018, and dance music was having a moment. With its US popularity on a rapid ascent, it had finally entered the mainstream conversation. In San Francisco, a small group of long-time house heads met weekly to mix hot tracks and exchange rumors on the dancefloor. Their latest observation: as with anything that gains widespread traction, there was a watering down happening in the scene. Be it increased exclusivity at events, excess materialism (see: sparkle ponies), or just plain bad tunes - house music seemed to losing some of its soul. It was becoming all potatoes and no meat, and *something* had to be done. Enter No Mash, a collective of DJs and creatives that brings soulfully curated events and tasty tracks to the Bay Area and world at large. Our mission is to preserve all the things that make dance music great: inclusivity, creativity, silliness, a DIY attitude, and of course - bangers. Find us on the beach, at the park, on playa, in the club…wherever you can shake your rump, we’ll be there, and we promise to save you a dance.
